SASF Knicks Day - 11/11/2009
»
The SASF/Knicks NBA Fit Challenge partnership launched with “Knicks Day” at Kappa VII Middle School in Brooklyn on Nov. 11th. More than 500 participants of SASF’s after-school programs across the city came together to compete in age-specific basketball skills challenges, as well as hear from a former Knicks star about the importance of physical fitness in their young lives. John Starks, a Knicks legend, spoke to the group about staying fit through sports and exercise, as well as the importance of working hard in school and focusing on positive influences in life. Starks stuck around to sign autographs and take pictures with the students. After the competition, the kids enjoyed a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.
